THE GRACE

Disgrace is the opposite of grace. In other words, when grace is missing disgrace must be present. You cannot but have one of the two per time. Hence, I will be throwing more light on “the grace” in this write-up to correct misconceptions such as “let’s share the grace” and taking the grace for the summary or conclusion of a prayer session etc and all these I will be doing in a moment.

The grace as stated in 2Corinthians 13:14 by Apostle Paul is a prayer in itself and not just a conclusion of his letter to the Corinthians.

The grace is about the personality of God comprising of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit which of course is one i.e. God. Hence because God is indivisible or separable, the grace cannot be shared but said.

WHAT IS GRACE?
Grace is God’s gift to humankind in terms of Love, Favour, Mercy and goodwill. Hebrews 4:16 says;

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find GRACE TO HELP IN TIME OF NEED”

Grace is help in time of need. Grace is all you need to have all your needs met. Grace gives you an edge over your peers in life. It delivers to you what you are either not qualified for or don’t deserve on a platter of gold.

LET’S SAY THE GRACE

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen” 2Corinthians 13:14

Sure you know it off-hand but let me throw a little more light on what you already know because grace increases on the basis of increased knowledge, 2Peter 1:2 saying;

“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord”

You will agree with me that the grace if not more important is as important as any other prayer rather than just a prayer conclusion. Three points you should note about “the grace”.
Firstly, it comprises of “the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ”. What is this grace? Ephesians 2:5-8 unveils it;

“Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (BY GRACE YE ARE SAVED;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED through faith; and that not of yourselves: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD:”

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross makes up the first part of the grace; you cannot live without it. The kind of grace that couldn’t be denied expression when we were yet sinners must be a very strong grace and that is what we get from Christ. Salvation or life in abundance according to John 10:10b is the fruit of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Secondly, we talk about “the love of God”. This love was expressed when He released His son to die for a sinful generation. John 3:16 says;

“FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”

Hence, “the love of God” is made manifest in His selfless giving. This love is called agape; it is an unconditional type of love. Regardless of who you are; how far you are neck-deep in sin, you can approach Him for forgiveness. We see a reflection of this in the acceptance of the prodigal son by his father after wasting so much, Luke 15:20. You cannot afford to step out any day without the company of this love of God.

Finally, “the fellowship of the Holy Spirit”; the Holy Spirit is introduced to us as the Comforter, Teacher, Guide, Guardian etc, John 14:26. As a matter of fact we live in His dispensation in other words; He is in-charge of the affairs of the world we live in today which makes Him very indispensable to us if we desire glorious lives. There is so much to say about the person of the Holy Spirit but you might have to check out my articles titled “Holy Spirit” to access more.

However, I can’t but tell you amongst many others that the Holy Spirit is the doer of God’s word. God initiates it; Jesus puts the components together while the Holy Spirit manufactures it. He brings to lime light what God says. Unfortunately, we can do nothing without Him.

Conclusively, all these three are indispensable angels you can’t afford to let out of your sight any time. In fact, it is an indispensable prayer in itself such that if you should be in a hurry not to say it even if you don’t say any other. If I may now ask, will you say in your own opinion that “the grace” is to be shared or said or even a mere prayer round up? Food for thought! Let’s say the grace together now;

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen”
