REST! REST!! REST!!!

Text: Hebrew 4;9 “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God” 

MESSAGE

 God by His Spirit has declared it a season of rest in succession for us all. What is rest?  It is a state of tranquillity or peace; freedom from work; sleep; freedom from anxiety; a support and place to relax; cessation of activities etc. Genesis 2v2 reads;

“And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made”

There are lots of misconceptions about work. We have over time been made to believe that work has to be strength draining or that you must run up and down before you can be said to have worked but in God’s case in whose image we are made it is different. He had only been speaking things to being for six days and He rested on the seventh day. That’s work! Now He has declared your rest. How am I so sure? Because;

“For we which have believed do enter into rest...” Hebrew 4v3

Hence that rest you have long awaited is here now, Hebrew 4v9 says;

“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God”

Finally, whosoever enters into His rest and not just your rest because God is the one offering you rest now;

“...hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his”

Conclusively, when you enter into God’s rest as He has offered you now;

-Shame will be far from your marriage, John 2v1-11

-Stagnation will give way to your progress, John 5v1-9, John10v46-52

-Your tears will be wiped and Joy will be restored back to you, Luke 7v11-15

-Your body and business will become fruitful, 1Samuel 1v20, Luke 5v1-7

-Your finances will blossom and all your debt will be paid off, 2Kings 4v1-7

-Your health will blossom and your life will become peaceful, Matthew 9v20-22

-Life will be restored to your dead and very dry bones, Ezekiel 37v1-10, and John 11v43-44

Your experience of God’s awesomeness from now cannot be overemphasized. However, according to Hebrews 4v3; only believers i.e. born again Christians are entitled to the “Rest” being declared by God this season. So, please say the following prayer after me if you haven’t given Jesus your life because the rest being declared is for only believers; "Lord Jesus, I acknowledge my state as a sinner, wash me in Your precious blood as I accept you as my Lord and personal Savior, Amen". Now I am not of the faintest doubt that you have entered into an era of unending outstanding possibilities from now on in Jesus name! Congratulations and God bless you.
